MVO/CSR
Corporate social responsibility is something B-and-IT has taken op from day one of its founding.
Looking at all aspects which govern the daily operations we found that we could incorporate many aspects in our business culture.
Transportation
Cars are a real part of our operation however when we use cars in a more efficient way. Providing a mix of mobility and economic sanity.
This means we have the following policy;
- Cars are only for highly mobile employees (job crucial)
- When a car is issued green emission cars are chosen before any other models, this means zero emission cars are chosen before low emission and economical (petrol or diesel).
- If possible public transportation is preferred above personal mobility vehicles.
- Carpooling amongst colleges is promoted.
In 2015 nearly all the transportation needs where met by using public transportation. In 2016 about a quarter of all needs could be met by public transport.
The drop in this year on year usage can be explained by customer location. This also shows the challenge we have in relation to this point. The other 75% was filled in by using low emissions vehicles. Zero emission was not chosen due to limited range and exponential costs.
We’re also following developments with regard the share economy and self-driving mobility.
Paper usages
When we use paper we use FSC approved paper and other similar standards.
However the usages of paper is kept to a minimum. Invoices are provided digitally and emails are sent in place of letters. Where legislations obligates use to keep none digital information we will do so.
Hiring
If functionally possible we will look at groups with a greater distance to gain employments
- Handicapped
- Woman
- Starters (first job)
- Older employees
We are also following a solid hiring policy. This means that we only start hiring when we have a solid basis. Despite this we are working on a highly flexible workforce with a low overhead.
Energy

IT
IT should be low energy and completely recyclable. Also the same standards as with suppliers are adhered to. Datacentres should be green certified.
Investments
All investments made by B-and-IT or its affiliates are checked on the following items;
- CSR policies are followed (mobility hiring and product use and disposing)
- UN charter for human rights is followed.
- Child labour is not used
- Employees are paid to a level which is fair with regard to local living standards
- Digital communication, all communication is completely digital.
Suppliers
Suppliers are selected on the following criteria.
- CSR policies are followed (mobility hiring and product use and disposing)
- UN charter for human rights is followed.
- Child labour is not used
- Employees are paid to a level which is fair with regard to local living standards
- Digital communication, all communication is completely digital.
